You don’t need us to tell you how rapidly medical technology is changing
these days, and if your company isn’t embracing these advances and staying
up to speed on new developments, then it’s only going to be falling
behind. That’s what makes events such as Medical Design & Manufacturing
East so crucial when it comes to gaining a more comprehensive
understanding of the latest innovations and advancements in the field.
It’s a part of why MD&M East has been such a popular show among medical
device engineers, research and development professionals, and executives
throughout the territory. The show will return to New York City’s Jacob J.
Javits Convention Center from June 12-14.
This is What You Need to Know About the Medical Design & Manufacturing
(MD&M) Trade ShowAdvanced Manufacturing New York City. It’s happening this
June. Here’s what you need to know about it and why you should seriously
consider attending it (if you haven’t already made plans, that is).
Why Attend?
As mentioned earlier, this is the top annual MedTech event on the East
coast; a show where attendees can get a sneak peek at innovations and
advances before they hit the market, and catch up on anything new they may
have missed that’s already on the market. It’s attended by some 8,000
people in the field, and the technology on display includes everything
from surgical robots to wearables. Attendees will also have the
opportunity to connect with various industry suppliers in adhesives,
biotechnology, electronics, raw materials and packaging products.
Some of the 700-plus companies signed up to attend include:
3M
Dymax
Qosina
Zeus
In addition to the packed trade show floor, MD&M East also offers more
than 60 hours of education. Educational sessions include panel
discussions, new trends, success story case studies and technical
sessions. Smart manufacturing, packaging education, and general MedTech
education are just a sample of what attendees can expect to learn more
about in these sessions. Plus, there’s also a tech theater that will
regularly showcase the latest innovations to hit the market. Education
doesn’t just take place in a classroom setting, either. New this year are
education hubs, which are located across the show floor, better-allowing
attendees to pop in and out when relevant topics are discussed without
having to walk off-site or far away from all of the action in the exhibit
hall. There will even be a special 3D Printing Zone on the show floor,
which will allow attendees to get a crash course in additive
manufacturing.

host this year.
Networking Opportunities
A busy show floor featuring all of the who’s who in MedTech and hours of
beneficial education aren’t all attendees can gain from attending MD&M.
The networking opportunities also cannot be downplayed. Arguably just as
important as what you know is who you know, and MD&M East permits
attendees to build connections to help grow their business. All new this
year is the attendee-to-exhibitor matchmaking feature, which helps
attendees connect directly with suppliers based on their specific needs or
challenges.
